Pu-erh Tea

The pu-erh (Camellia sinensis) plant is used in many healthy teas, many of which have tons of weight loss benefits to go along with the already obvious things the tea does for you. It is used to make an assortment of super-healthy black, green and oolong teas. The teas are made from leaves and stems of the Pu-erh plant and are considered “weight-loss teas” in many other countries.

While it’s definitely not a miracle weight loss drug and isn’t exactly what you would call a “cure” for obesity, it still helps out and is definitely something that anyone looking to lose weight and/or stay healthy should look into. But what makes pu’erh so cool, I’ll tell you, it’s a little tiny chemical compound that goes by the name of lovastatin. The very same chemical is used in in a certain perscription medication that is meant to be used for lowering a person’s cholesterol. There were even studies done on animals that, in fact, verify that pu-erh tea actually may be able to reduce certain fats in the blood known as triglycerides, as well as helping to elminate things like low-density lipoprotein and the bad kind of LDL cholesterol.

Now while this isn’t an exact direct benefit from eliminating bad LDL cholesterol, it has been shown that getting rid of it has an indirect connection to successful weight loss, obviously a good diet, exercise and just an overall healthy lifestyle is till king of the wight loss world, as well as the health world. But, no matter how small the benefit, your body needs all the help it can get and appreciates it immensely.

While there are still quite large number of questions that remain unanswered about pu’erh tea and it’s health benefits, we know one thing for sure, it helps your body out and, for now, that’s all we need to know.

If you do decide to try and lose weight using pu’erh tea, you definitely switch up your diet accordingly. The kinds of meals that are preferred are small-sized meals, usually consisting of things like salad, fruits and vegetables. You should also have an exercise program, nothing too crazy or stressful, no, just a few simple, easy and short walks around the block and trying take the stairs instead of elevator whenever possible. Gradually increasing the effort out into these activities, as well the amount of them done each and every day.

Now, there are a few possible side effects for certain people to consuming pu’erh tea, mainly because of the caffeine content in the drink. For example if you’re someone who experiences things such anxiety disorders, diabetes, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, glaucoma, high blood pressure, heart conditions and/or bleeding disorders you might want to stay away from it and also stay away from caffeine in general, however, do some more research, ask around, think for yourself a little bit, NO ONE is that same as ANYONE else, so just keep that in mind while making decisions about this, as well as any other decisions you make in life, not just health-related ones.
