Strawberries & Raspberries: Everything These Two Fruits Can Do For YOU

0

There’s a lot of fruit in this world, pretty much all of it is pretty darn healthy for you, but there are two little fruits that definitely stand out a little bit. Those two fruits that we’ll talk about today are strawberries and raspberries, which just so happen to be my two favorite berries in the world. Let’s get started.

First off, what can strawberries do for you?

Fights against Certain Birth Defects

Starting off this list of health benefits is the fact that strawberries can actually fight against birth defects. Why? Because folate is in strawberries and folate has been shown to assist in preventing all different kinds off birth defects.

Helps You and Your Heart Stay Healthy

Just a single serving of strawberries contains a large amount (3 grams in total) of your recommended daily amount of fiber intake (12% of daily recommended value) What does this mean? It means strawberries are heart healthy, Heck, if even The American Heart Association agrees with this (that consuming fiber is healthy for your heart) which they do, it might be a good idea to try it.

Promotes Healthy Blood Pressure Levels

Now this benefit is something that is fairly common among most berries and also a lot of other fruits, and what it is is the fact that strawberries contain a lot of potassium, which, while it has lots of other heath benefits besides this, is especially good at maintaining healthy, safe blood pressure levels. What’s more though, is the fact that strawberries that pack a huge punch of potassium, with blackberries being the ONLY berry that actually edges them out in potassium content. Just ONE cup provides an impressive 254mg (7% of daily recommended value) of your daily recommended potassium intake. Seeing as I could eat 10 cups a day of these delicious fruits, that’s pretty great.

Now, onto raspberries, and just how much they can help you and your body stay as happy and healthy as possible.

Helps you get and keep a healthy body that works well.

Among it’s many other health benefits, raspberries just so happen to contain a little something called ellagic acid, a phytochemical that may help slow down the effects of certain different carcinogens in the body. Now, more research is definitely in order, if they want to prove these effects are able to be replicated consistently, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to try anyway,

Keeps the Heart Healthy

Just like strawberries, raspberries are great at keeping your heart up and running to it’s fullest potential. One of the main reasons for this, just like with strawberries, is that raspberries contain potassium. A lot of it, in fact. Seeing as just a ½ cup of raspberries delivers a whopping (approximately) 129mg of potassium. Potassium helps to maintain the proper rhythmic beating of the heart as well as stabilize healthy blood pressure levels. Not to mention all the other things it can do for your body.

Obviously there’s many more benefits for both fruits than just those listed here, but we felt these were the most important. So, we hope you enjoyed and hope that you have a fantastic day!
